"Will be interesting to see how Leeds mark his death"
White armbands (assuming they're wearing the home shirt).

Must admit laughing when they said he got booked
Hadn't been aware that Sprake was one who had broken ranks on Revie's match fixing and that he had been ostracised by the rest of the Leeds cheats since. Saw a clip where he went to a Leeds game for the first time since his playing days and it said he hadn't been invited to any reunions and all the old players who were alive refused to meet him. Will be interesting to see how Leeds mark his death given he was treated like shit when he was alive because they couldn't admit that Revie was a crook. RIP to a brave bloke who stood up for the truth

There were lots of "free-style" dirty players back then, but Leeds were outstanding in appearing to have been coached in cheating - sly knees in the backs of opposition thighs, etc., all carefully executed so the ref couldn't see it.
Almost certainly part of the reason why Clough, for example, hated what Revie stood for in the game

They showed a clip the other day where Bobby Gould admitted he jumped into him as a cross came in and then took a kick at him. Sprake got up and laid him out with a left hook. Each got booked. Ha ha ha PWOPA FOOTBALL

The Leeds dirty thing is mainly bollocks, all sides were dirty in the 70's, Leeds played some great football, some of the best seen.

He used to jump and catch crosses and have his boot strategically extended so he would accidentally on purpose kick people in the chest, back or face. He was just as dirty a cunt as the rest of the team.

I seem to recall my Dad telling me that fans used to sing 'careless hands' by Des O'Connor when he played at West Ham.

He went to throw out a ball at Anfield and stopped at the last moment as the player was being closed down. This resulted in him throwing the ball into his own net as he tried to stop himself.

I remember term "doing a sprake" but too young to have known exactly what it referred to but was obviously some notorious mistake or other.

Least objectionable player for Revie's Leeds.
And apparently was responsible for getting rid of the bastard.
